In Memoriam: Our Pastor Bob

Pastor Bob Miller
1946-2006

Pastor Bob Miller was born Robert Franklin Miller on November 1, 1946 in Baltimore, MD. He is the son of Carl Miller and Doris Moffit, and brother of Raymond Miller, all deceased. He met his wife of 39 years, Jeanne Lynn Miller in 1964 and married her on June 16, 1967. Shortly after that, he served his country in the Vietnam war, earning many honors, including a bronze star. He is a graduate of Towson State University, with a bachelor’s degree and two masters degrees in education. He was a Howard County school teacher until 1980, when he left that profession to train for ministry at Rhema Bible Training Center. After graduating from Rhema in 1983, he began to pastor, and he founded his church, Montgomery Faith Fellowship, in March of 1985. His life of faith and gift for teaching have touched the lives of many people around the world. He is a member of Rhema Ministerial Association International, and served as the Mid-Atlantic Region’s director for many years.

After fighting for a year, his body succumbed to cancer, and he died in his home on May 16, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Pastor Jeanne Miller, children-- Kristin & John Wenck, Jr., and Justin & Angelique Miller, and grandchildren—Hannah Sue Miller, Jonathan Wenck, and Kaitlyn Wenck.

Audrey and I praise God for the impact Pastor Bob has had on our lives. Although we know he is in a far greater place we will miss him as a brother, friend and quality leader. Our prayers are with Jeanne and family, as well as the members of Montgomery Faith Fellowship.

With our deepest love,

My memories of Pastor Bob go back to when he first arrived in Maryland...God blessed us in so many ways by meeting, loving and knowing him. I recall the very first meetings of M.F.F. that were held in our home in Rockville. Memories of the ski trip and Bob's healing touch on me. I will always remember and think of him with love.

Much Love to Jeanne and family

The word IMPACT would best describe most any person’s memory of Pastor Bob. He meant more to us than we will ever be able to articulate. And he will continue to impact our lives as we remember and think about him. We look forward to seeing him again.

You have always been in our hearts and our prayers. We miss you all deeply and wish we could be with you. But it is heartwarming to know that the MFF family is there supporting you.

Love always, Chris and Sonja

Our love, faith, and prayers surround all of you this day. Our lives were very much enriched and made better because we knew Pastor Bob Miller. We will miss his greatly.....he had a great sense of humor and such a passion for the call of God in his life. Another great soldier has fallen in the line of duty... in the Lord's army. Catching up with him later when we all get to heaven will be a joy.

We were privileged to serve Bob and Jeanne as Pastors and to serve with them at MFF for 12 years. We considered those 12 years some of the richest times of our lives and treasure the memories and are still reaping the harvest. We will greatly miss Pastor Bob as all, but know he is talking with the "greats" right now, asking all those questions he always said he would ask when he got home. We love you Jeanne and Kristin and Justin and families!

A helper, that's is what Pastor Bob was to me. He was always there for my family through our toughest times. I'll never forget that. And I'll always remember the times that he would travel with the youth group when we'd go to camp. His support and love of the young people at Montgomery Faith was so awesome. He loved us all and we loved him.

With love in Christ

We got to know Pastor Bob from serving with him and Jeanne as RMAI National Directors. We began serving at the same time in the late 1990's.

We've spent time with Pastor Bob in places all around the U.S.A. at various retreat/meetings. Much of that time was always filled with laughter..which we all needed and enjoyed.

It is with great fondness and much love that when we think of Bob. He was a godly man, full of ideas, full of life, full of energy, and we always loved being around him.

We love Jeanne and Bob. They have been an example of love and integrity. They are dear friends and always will be.

We know that the Lord will take care of Jeanne and MFF. He will give wisdom and provide. The work that Pastor Bob and Jeanne have done these past 20+ years was built on a solid foundation and will continue to grow.

We love you with all our hearts Jeanne....you and Bob are dear precious friends.

His strength is yours...we are praying for you.

Pastor Bob and Jeanne not only opened their church doors to our ministry, but opened their hearts to us personally. Every time we ministered at MFF we left refreshed ourselves. We encouraged one another, and we laughed a lot!

Paul said in Romans 1:11-12, "For I long to see you in order that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other's faith, both yours and mine.
(NAS)

That's the way we feel about Pastor Bob and Jeanne - encouraged by each other's faith. We cherish their friendship, respect their wisdom, and admire their ability to see the humor in whatever life has to offer.

Our love goes to the entire Miller family, and to the family of Montgomery Faith Fellowship.

Rose and I send our deepest sympathies to Jeanne and the entire Miller family. Pastor Bob was an encourager and teacher. His life was an example of one laying down for his brother and/or friend. He stood as a leader among leaders. Our prayers extend also to the congregation of Montgomery Faith Fellowship.

I don't think I ever thanked Pastor Bob for a comment he said to me at Refreshing Mountain youth camp-it was simple, but very necessary advice that I use and pass along to others. It was nice seeing him at WBS this year, to be a recipient of his and Pastor Jeanne's kind words again. My prayers will continue for Pastor Jeanne, your family, and your church family.
I know my church would not be what it is today without Pastor Bob and MFF.

We thank God for Bob's life and the times of fellowship that we had together with him and Jeanne. We don't grieve for Bob because we know that he has gone to a much better place, but our hearts go out to Jeanne and the family because we know how much they will miss him. And we know how much the church will miss having Bob as their pastor.
Bob had this testimony--he was a friend of God. Bob knew Jesus, spent time with Him in prayer, walked with Him in the spirit and showed forth His likeness and image. What a great privilege to have a friend of God as our friend. Certainly we will all miss Bob, but what a great privilege to have been touched by his life and to have known his friendship.
Words are inadequate to express what is in our hearts. The memory of his friendship will always remain with us.
We feel that Bob is hearing Jesus say to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant. Welcome home."

We will never forget our first meeting with Pastor Bob in the Summer of 2001. He took my wife, son & I to lunch as we had been driving for a long period while itinerating in the US that summer after arriving back from the mission field. Pastor Bob was so kind and encouraging to us. He then went out of his way as a Senior Pastor to take us to the local mall to let our son(toddler then) to play. He shared much with us, but what spoke the most was his actions to show us the love of a Pastor. He spoke to us much of his love for missions. We pray much grace & comfort for Pastor Jeanne, the family, the staff and congregation of Montgomery Faith Fellowship! He will be missed. May we continue to run our race here as Pastor Bob & all of Heaven now cheers us onward in our heavenly race! Until we meet again...

All our sympathy & love,

Scott & Krista Fletcher

Pastor Bob was a wonderful brother in the Lord and a great pastor. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to know him and work with him. He was a gentleman, intelligent, and he served God with honor. The world is a better place because of him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeanne and the church!
